Journey’s continued to evolve and I’m not really sure how and for how long it will progress. I’ll likely update this same post with ideas to help me remember.
Pitch (Whatsapp w/ Trent – Dec 7)
Journey re-engineers the social media paradigm. Journey works to reward those who are taking on risk to achieve their goals, while also providing an avenue for others to contribute and also partake in that success.
Ultimately we’ve seen social media evolve to the point where it is very easy to engineer a superficial experience – but here’s an opportunity for social media 2.0 where we utilize social media as a tool to achieve distinctive results.
Challenge: Re-engineering the reward mechanism associated with social media.

Meeting with Jay from GoodPin (December 10, 2017 – Phil & Sebastien)
Kickstarter, charities, etc have an obligation and incentive to share their story with contributing individuals.
For example, Charity Water, has done very well in providing story based (beacons, photos, etc) to the members that are donating to their cause. People have found value in this. This being a critical part to their business success.
Is there be a way to tie together the contributors, giving them recognition, and association with the cause, while also providing story-based progress updates from the Journey owner?
Feature Creep: Add in contribution/giving through the platform, making you a contributor – hence actions.
Clear Giving (December 31, 2017)
Can contributions/tipping (see twitter tipping bots, etc) be used in social media as a way for individuals to express themselves?
Clear giving, with clear results and individuals can use this to assist themselves in their Journey, while also “tipping/contributing” to others.
Other Thoughts
These stories are great. Can you make them live stories? How do you potentially tie this in as a product down the road?
This website ties in the components of a:
- Landing Page
- Why Water? – Parallel with Journey subsections
- Stories
- (Future) Live Stories
- https://www.charitywater.org/stories/in-honor-of-moms/.
- This video is a small collection of clips. Would it add value if this was someone YOU knew, that put together this story, with location updates, in real time? I think so…
