A Take at the “Designer life”

What if I told you that you were living the best day of your life every day.

Today I started my morning exploring the idea behind the “designer life”. An experiment to write down what you envision how your “picture perfect” life might look like in the future.

It was a challenging idea. At first, I fell in love with the notion of romantically portraying how this life might be lived.

The perfect life.

The perfect day.

The perfect day.

Waking up as a gentle breeze flowing through white silk curtains. The breeze – crisp, having traveled thousands of kilometers across oceans, forests and mountains, only to greet me as I wake from my gentle slumber. Each inhale, replenishing the outer reaches of my lungs.

My bed and blanket cradle me, the fluff weighs down on me comfortably, it’s firm presence wrapped around every limb.

I could most definitely continue – the premonition of such an existence…more try exciting!

Having the warmth of someone I love gently wrapped around me in the morning, and having a golden pup sitting at the bedside, (already awake) waiting happily to be scratched on the its head as I lay in bed (which I obviously do). And this women! Well, this women, we have shared a life of adventure and from this life of adventure, we have blossomed a true appreciation for one another. Her beauty radiates though she is expressionless as she lays in sleep.

And where would I go now?

As I squeeze out from under her embrace and have my feet touch the floor – and oh the pup! Smiling up at me as I sternly ask him/her to contain his excitement for the day – only so that we don’t wake up the others 🙂

The breeze continues to ebb and flow through the open panes – a reminder of the beautiful natural world that surrounds us. The sound of ocean, the distant birds and the rustling of trees remind me to take yet another deep inhale to appreciate this life. Breathe in, breathe out. I take my time with a morning coffee. As I gain my senses, excitement builds as my mind deliberates over…

At this point the story ends. Why would that be?

First of all, being the perfect day, I’d assume that the following were addressed:

  • My family has been taken care of and understands my life choices
  • That I have gained some level of success through entrepreneurial endeavors
  • That I have traveled extensively, and at this point am financially stable

And so?

That leaves me with the ability to focus my time and energy on a purpose worthy. Perhaps it might be in exploring, or environmental conservation? Maybe a mix of tech and business in that?

Whatever it is, I would be able to dedicate my times and efforts to this cause in an impactful manner.

So where does this leave me?

Well I realized that I am living the best life I can be, and in doing so, my soul takes Solace, and is for the most part content. In effect, every day I am doing the absolute best I can. By luckily being a person of action, and little capacity of deliberation, I almost always am working towards this goal. There is always room for improvement in terms of effectiveness, but this is an analysis of purpose and happiness, no?

So that’s where I am right now; on the road to achieving those three points (above) happen so I have the skills necessary to live this life. And the best thing is, that I’m thankfully already doing it.

Being a person of execution, rather than reluctance, ensures that I am actually working towards my goals. Perhaps this whole exercise should really be meant to be an exercise of gratefulness. An inquiry into what we are doing in our daily lives to live our lives to the fullest. And if you are doing everything you can to reach your goals, then do you not then live a life of satisfaction?

You must!

Random dreamt up Journey of mine:

  • Travel extensively, on an adventure where little is known except that uncertainty is most certain
  • To create Journey
  • To (maybe) become a professional fighter – low priority
  • And to climb Mount Everest with the training only done through acting as a bum and Sherpa on behalf of others

Along the way, I hope to be able to effectively manage my money, while leveraging my network, experience and community to generate new solutions for problems that the world needs.

Then, perhaps I can continue the rest of the chapter. Finish my coffee, and dedicate myself to, just some other cause that I feel worthy.

Thoughts of a ho, now you know
