- Meeting a tranny (Woo!) – she (previously male) was pretty awesome
- And, finding your constitution and the importance of that
Those were the main things to talk about. I really should have written something about meeting the tranny though… but meh, couldn’t find the time.
Bam!
TIME
That’s the topic of the day. At least partially.
So I’m going to enter the shit workforce on May 30, and this is a reminder to myself about why I took the job in the first place, and… and yeah, a reminder about why I took the job in the first place.
-
- First of all, the job itself may not be bad; I am not tearing on the new position, but honestly, I fucking hate working, especially! on other people’s shit, or shit I’m not interested in.The problem’s we’re solving are, generally speaking, so fucking pointless in the grand scheme of… life… that, what the fuck are we doing here. Also, you’re putting a cap on your worth, in this instance, to $63,000.
- I’ve definitely found that I really enjoyed my time being laid off. Gettin’ laid and payed. I loved having the ability to take EVERY, SINGLE, DAY to do something productive, to explore something new, and to build towards something I gave an eff about. I wasn’t sitting around playing video games, watching TV, etc. Although I did sleep in and enjoy my bed. MMMM, bed…
- That and I learnt how to program proficiently, to the point where I firmly believe I could acquire an entry level programming job. Kinda cool hey?
- Also, I have 4 months, FOUR MONTHS, left on my Employment Insurance. WHY THE EFF AM I TAKING THIS JOB!?

To be quaint, the main thing isn’t the job. It comes down to having an itch, and not knowing where to scratch it. But it’s all unfolding. I’ve considered going back to school, and other options. Ultimately, this will help me in better figuring out how to scratch this itch, and this post will serve as a reminder.
Back on track, here’s the justifications (whether they hold water or not):
- I “need” the money. If I’m going to be safe with my court case. I need the money. If my court case goes to trial, I need the money. Some would think this a no-brainer, but ultimately, I could find ways to source the money if I needed to, and court is such a bag of marbles anyways, that it could go any which way, no matter how much money you throw at it.
- Even if my court case doesn’t go, I wouldn’t have money afterwards to go traveling as I so desire.
- The last two months out of my four months off, I’d likely be concerned about finding a job anyways (unless I work traveled, where none of that would matter).
- My minimum viable product with my app is nearly complete, and hence I can start shifting from the time intensive, technical aspect part to focusing on how to deploy it as a service.
But most of all.
So I can use the money from the new job, funnel it into my cup thing, which will advertise for SkyTech (which I’m also involved in) which will then hopefully come full circle into developing shit for myself. And then on top of that funnel it possibly into my app’s backend services (when my app gets there). But yes, mainly leveraging the extra cash I make, on the projects I would otherwise be developing.
Last but not least:
So I can really remember the feeling of going from spending my time enjoyably, to spending it on something I don’t find as enjoyable…
Business is quite simply business… It’s lackluster in nature, and kinda gross. Offering your services and goods for another, so that we may reinvest, and become more efficient than the others in providing goods and services for another. Business in the creation of new things, which has purpose… is exciting!
But hey, the people I work with might be awesome, and they might be motivated and interested in being an awesome company. Who knows. Not to mention everyone does need to work… I’ve been kinda living in an alternate universe, one which I am very glad to have experienced.
Thoughts of a ho… Now you know.
