You and I, we’re not so different, it just so happens we have different goals. Whether we’re aiming to ride our bike across Canada vs. finding our way through med school; we’re all here for the ride.
We’re all here to fulfill our best desires. Everyone’s desire is a bit different. That’s why we argue about what is right, what is wrong. But ultimately, everyone’s right.
We should be happy to have those around us who are seeking goals, completely different then our own. Thank them for being in your life, thank them for being there for you. If many of my friends were like me… I’m not sure how many friends I would have.
Yes, I’m a stand up guy, yes I enjoy the presence of others, but no, I wouldn’t enjoy the company of myself. Fuck no. Thank yourself for having the company of others, and if you don ‘t and you’re reading this, well, you’re special in your own way.
There’s different levels of comfort. I don’t really think anyone every agrees with each other, but there’s ways to compliment each other. Think about it this way, there’s ‘x’ amount of fingerprints. There might be some similar, but none of them are exactly the same. The same way about or thoughts (if not our thoughts, even more so)! So, be thankful if you think differently from others. Be thankful if you can’t find someone to agree with your thoughts. But most of all, be thankful that you have your own thoughts which are right, whether the norms say it’s right or not.
We could get in to a whole entire conversation about that… but we won’t. We live in a borderline society. I’ll say that much (look it up), but we can do better.
